RFD-TV The Theatre and Golden Stallion are pleased to announce that the 2009 & 2010 FAME (Families Advocating Moral Entertainment) Western Music Artist of the Year award winner The Roy Rogers Jr Show, will be sharing the stage at RFD-TV Theatre beginning in 2012. The Roy Rogers Jr. Show pays tribute to the anniversary of the 100th birthday of The King of the Cowboys, Roy Rogers. Roy Rogers Jr. (Dusty) and his band (the High Riders) perform classic cowboy and western music reminiscent of the sounds of Sons of the Pioneers, the group founded by his father, Roy Rogers. This show is full of surprises and great music along with Dusty sharing his personal stories of growing up with Roy and Dale. To the delight of the fans, Dustin Roy Rogers - son of Dusty and grandson to Roy - joins his father on stage singing in the cowboy tradition of his father and grandfather before him. Dustin sounds and looks very much like his grandpa when Roy rode the silver screen back in the 1930s and '40s. In honor of his grandfather's 100th birthday, Dustin has added Roy's favorite song to his line-up. If you grew up watching Roy Rogers on the silver screen, then you do not want to miss this show! We cannot be any more excited about having The Roy Rogers Jr. Show on our stage. The Rogers family is a very important piece to the RFD-TV family and we feel that bringing this great show to our stage is a perfect fit, said Trey Pelz (General Manager, RFD-TV The Theatre) The new relationship for 2012 will kick off the year with RFD TVs parade float in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, CA on January 2nd, where Dusty, Dustin and the High Riders will ride the float and sing Happy Trails celebrating the 100th birthday of Roy Rogers. The float will be escorted by 100 golden Palominos. The shows season will start in mid April, Monday through Friday at 2 pm where Dusty and Dustin will pay tribute to Dale Evans for the year, as she would have been 100 years old on October 31, 2012. We are excited about the opportunity to become a part of the RFD TV Family. We stand committed to carry on the legacy of Roy and Dale and as their family, think RFD TV the Theatre is a perfect platform to make this happen, said Dustin Roy Rogers.
