This 400 page 9-1/2" x 11" hardbound book by Eric van Hamersveld contains forewords by both Dale Evans and Roy "Dusty" Rogers, Jr., an introduction explaining the 5-year search for this "lost" music, several special Rogers' family pictures, 28 chapters representing the 28 films Roy and Dale starred in together, and a detailed appendix. Within the 28 chapters there are over 160 songs. No wonder they were called "musical Westerns!"

Each chapter begins with a title page displaying the film's title screen, full film credits, a brief story synopsis, and a nine-panel photo spread depicting the story line action. The rest of the chapter's pages are the song sheets song sheets (see list below) in the order in which they were sung in the film. Each song sheet contains not only the lyrics, melody, and guitar chords but film frames from the film showing what was going on while the song was being sung and a script block that explains why the song was in the film.

Each book also includes a CD of 18 songs (over 35 minutes of music) that are digitally remastered soundtracks from the original films (see list below). Because of film editing during the early 1950s, most of the songs on this CD have not been heard in over 50 years!
